Classic Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

We love anything chocolate chip around here.

That’s why today we decided to share our classic chocolate chip cookie recipe to quench that sweet tooth craving we all get every once in a while.

Ingredients

  • 3 Cups all purpose flour
  • 1 Cup softened butter
  • 1/2 Cup sugar
  • 1/2 Cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Tbsp. Vanilla extract
  • 1 Tsp. baking soda
  • 2 Tsp. Hot milk
  • 1 Pinch of salt
  • 2 Cups semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar together until well mixed.

Beat in eggs and vanilla a bit at a time until well blended (be careful not to over blend).

Then dissolve your baking soda in hot milk and pour in to mix.

Add flour, chocolate chips, and salt in and mix.

Create spoonfuls of the dough and drop them on a cookie sheet about 1 inch apart from each other.

Or (optional) you can refrigerate the cookie dough for an hour to get a more manageable consistency and you can create each chocolate chip cookie ball with your hands.

Stick in oven and bake for about 8-10 minutes or until edges are golden.

Do not over bake your cookies as they will turn out too crunchy (not good if that wasn’t what you were going for!)

Let cool on a rack and enjoy with the whole family!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe Tips

If you don’t like using milk in your cookies (or you are lactose intolerant) you can always substitute it for almond milk, water, oat milk, or even cashew milk.

Do not over bake your cookies. Unless you prefer for them to be extra crunchy.

Use a mix of different types of chocolate chips to get an interesting bite of texture and flavor every time you bite into one.

Take them out of the oven when they’re barely browning for chewier cookies, though they might look underdone, they’ll cool off and finish hardening once out of the oven.

For chocolate chip cookies, softened butter at room temperature always tends to work best.

Feel free to add extra ingredients in there that aren’t just chocolate. For example, you can add oats, walnuts, cranberries, marshmallows, or bits of mint candy for a fun twist on your classic chocolate chip cookies.
